Transfusion

This past Friday Mike and Tim had the opportunity to teach an Evangelism Training workshop for CMF (Christian Medical Fellowship) on the University of Glasgow campus. It was a great experience to meet many students and to equip them with tools to share their Faith with other students. Mike and Tim now plan develop a set curriculum that they can use for this type of training in the future. Please pray for the 35 students who came, that they would take what they learned and share the gospel!!
Oh ya, that's a picture of Mike, pretty much passed out, after giving blood. He did that (and filmed it) to help illustrate the similarity between the shortage of Scots who are giving blood (less that 6%), and the shortage of Christians who are willing to share the "life-blood" of Christ. The med students got a kick out of seeing him pass out on video!

Noah's First Thanksgiving Feast

Praise God for a great Thanksgiving Feast! This past Thursday, the church plant Re:Hope along with the Nieu Communities staff, hosted a Thanksgiving Feast, and anyone and everyone was invited. 80-90 people ate together at the Glasgow City Mission (who generously let us use their facility). Side by side, believers and non-believers breaking bread together. It was pretty powerful to see people of all different walks of life sharing the Thanksgiving meal. Hope you all had a blessed Thanksgiving too. Please pray for the many non-believers who shared Thanksgiving with us, you never know what God could do over some pumpkin pie.

1st Day of School...

Last week Olivia started Nursery school at a little Nursery a few blocks from our flat. As parents we were a bit nervous about how she would do, but she absolutely loved it! Showing no shyness whatsoever, when asked what her favorite song was (in front of the whole class), Olivia proceeded to sing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star from start to finish all by herself! I couldn't help but be amazed by her confidence and delight in being the centre of attention, she of course gets that from the Libolt side :).
She has settled in nicely and looks forward to going and playing with her friends every weekday morning.
It feels like our little girl is growing up too quickly, and for the first time I'm exposing her to influences and circumstances that I cannot control. Please pray with me for protection for Olivia, and that she may begin to learn from the lessons of life how big and loving God is.

Happy Birthday Olivia!

This past Friday we celebrated Olivia's 3rd birthday! We had a party at our house and she had a great time with her friends. She is growing up so quickly, she will soon be starting "nursery" school. Olivia is a happy, loveable little girl, she loves her ballet class and any time spent with her friends. Please continue to pray for her safety in the big city, that she be able to adjust well to nursery, and that she would continue to learn to be kind to others.
Till next time,
Jaelyn

Anger

Normally this tool is used to assist in changing a tire, however the other day I walked across one man hitting another man with this exact instrument. I don't know what they were fighting about, but the look in both their eyes was that of fear and anger. I managed to get ahold of the metal bar and remove it only to find that neither men were interested in receiving any further help, both just took off.
Glasgow is a very violent city, this fight was just one small experience with it. Anger and contempt have eaten away that the moral core of this city, violence, alcohol, and pornography are all on the increase here.
Please pray for the city of Glasgow, also pray that the Church here would mobilize and make themselves available to the Holy Spirit. Thanks,
Mike

Worship

Nieu communites Glasgow is made up of 20 fulltime missionary staff. We are a close community of friends, focused on discipling this next generation.
We get many opportunities to minister to each other as well, this picture was taken in my flat of our team worshiping during an extended staff meeting.
Please continue to pray that our team here stays united in purpose and in heart.

Noah

Noah is a great boy. He is always an easy smile, a happy face. He loves others and really, really likes his food .... now! He is a perfect reminder of God's goodness and his creativity. Please pray for him that he might grow in the strength and knowledge of God, and that he my continue to be healthy and happy.
